Matthew F. Walsh
Matthew Walsh is a junior at Berklee College of Music majoring in Music Business with a minor in the Business of Live Music. Passionate about the live music industry, he is a member of the Berklee Popular Music Institute (BPMI), working hands-on in tour management, festival strategy, and artist development. Matthew also manages rising rock ’n’ roll artist Pat Kennedy, supporting booking, release campaigns, and high-impact live performance growth across the Northeast.
Matthew is actively involved in advancing legal literacy and support for musicians. He serves as President of the Berklee Law Club, coordinating events focused on negotiation, royalties, contracts, and intellectual property. He also contributes to the Harvard Law Recording Artists Project (RAP), providing pro bono legal guidance and resources to independent artists navigating the music industry.
Matthew has gained major-market live entertainment experience through his role as a Marketing Intern at Broadway In Chicago, where he supports promotional efforts for national touring productions and assists with planning and execution of the annual Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert at Millennium Park — one of the city’s largest free music events.
He is also dedicated to philanthropy and community engagement. As President of Bettering Boston, he leads fundraising events and partnerships with local nonprofits, while helping showcase Berklee talent and create meaningful impact throughout the city.
He is eager to contribute his passion for music, business, law, live performance, and musical theatre to create innovative projects and make a positive impact through creative endeavors.
Law Experience
As President of the Berklee Law Club, Matthew leads the effort to educate Berklee’s student creators on their rights in the music industry. He develops and delivers programming on topics including copyright law, sampling, negotiation, and contract drafting, and has organized mock trials and hands-on legal workshops tailored to working musicians. Under his leadership, Law Club has hosted high-profile guest speakers such as Dr. E. Michael Harrington (copyright expert witness), Megan Pekar of Loeb & Loeb, Professor Tonya Butler (MB/M Chair), Maria Kopp from Sony Music Entertainment, and others who provide valuable real-world legal perspectives to the Berklee community.
Matthew also contributes to the Harvard Law Recording Artists Project (RAP) — a pro bono legal clinic representing independent musicians and entrepreneurs. In this role, he helps real-world clients by reviewing and drafting contracts, explaining rights and obligations, and supporting artists as they navigate an increasingly complex music landscape.

Artist Management
Matthew is the manager for Pat Kennedy, a rising rock ’n’ roll artist from Worcester, MA whose sound draws influence from Bruce Springsteen and Chicago while connecting with today’s audiences. Pat has quickly become known for his high-energy live performances, consistently drawing 300+ fans to his weekly Saturday residency at Loretta’s Last Call in Fenway and earning repeat headline bookings across New England — including Owl’s Nest Resort (400 cap) and Middle East Upstairs (180 cap).
As manager, Matthew oversees release strategy, booking, marketing, and live development. He has played a key role in the rollout of Pat’s debut album, Table 42, including coordinating single releases, building promotional timelines, managing distribution and metadata, organizing creative assets, and supporting brand growth across social and live channels. He has also secured performance opportunities, facilitated press coverage including a featured article in The Sounds Won’t Stop, and helped expand Pat’s network among Boston music industry stakeholders.
Working collaboratively with the band, Matthew continues to build momentum for Pat’s career, focusing on long-term market positioning, audience expansion, and festival-level exposure.

Marketing Experience
Matthew brings major-market live event experience through his role as a Marketing Intern at Broadway In Chicago, where he supports promotional strategy for leading national touring productions including Les Misérables, MJ: The Musical, Beauty and the Beast, Book of Mormon, Phantom of the Opera, Kimberly Akimbo, and Titanique.
He also assists with the planning and execution of the Broadway In Chicago Summer Concert at Millennium Park — a signature event attracting over 10,000 attendees each year — contributing to logistics, social media content, audience activation, and onsite promotion. This experience has strengthened his skills in live event marketing, brand alignment, and high-impact audience engagement within a major entertainment market.
